"I know only to well that buying and selling a home is such an emotional experience!” says Candice Coats, Owner of Staged to Engage, Inc. Coats is also a licensed REALTOR, for more information on real estate specifically, please visit www.CandiceCoats.com.

After helping friends and family redecorate their homes for sale, and decorating her own home for sale Coats realized that she had a natural talent for home staging.

Coats decided to change the direction of her profession to something more creative and gratifying. She left her corporate career and started Staged to Engage Inc. which offers Home Staging, Interior Redesign and Color Consulting services in Metro Detroit and Greater Toledo area.

With her experiences and her MBA education with a concentration in Marketing, Coats is well positioned to help identify a home's target market, the emotional buying triggers of the home, and repackage the home through design.

Coats has developed marketing programs and designed visual displays and ads that helped generate hundreds of new customers for a growing start-up business. She knows how to attract buyers through marketing concepts and design.

A professional stager can do for a home what a professional marketer can do for a product. Attract buyers to the product by re-packaging it to appeal to the widest target market. This is the whole intent of staging…repackaging a home in such a way that it will attract most buyers in that target market.

Coats has led and organized many corporate events which allowed her to fine tune her project management skills.

Staging a house, top to bottom, is like managing a major project and leading many different functional teams (for instance painters, tillers, handy men, movers, carpenters, maids, etc.). Coats' experiences prepared her to handle these tasks with professionalism, attention to detail, and with the highest standards, all the while having fun!

Getting a house ready to be put on the market quickly is not an easy or stress-free undertaking. Allow us to help make things much easier on you and utelize Coats' expertise and eye for design to ensure your home is properly designed for sale.

A house is generally a person's single and biggest financial investment. So it is important to not JUST sell your property, but you want to sell it quickly and for the best possible price.

"My husband has never cared about the way our house was decorated before. Now he can't stop talking about what else can be done in the other rooms after seeing how you redesigned our family room."

The Decision

The startup of Staged to Engage was a relatively easy decision for her. She had established a successful career for herself at the age of 26 at a fortune 500 company holding various leadership positions.

What made the decision easy for her was her passion for design, the excitement she felt when her clients were happy (sometimes to tears), and the ability to change peoples lives by either helping them to move on to the next chapter of their lives or to live better in the home that they were in.

This was a dream opportunity for her. Staged to Enage allowed her to do something she loves and play a bigger role in the lives of others. She thrives on challenges!

“It is such an amazing feeling, to know that you have helped an entire family to move to the next step in their lives, simply by helping to free them from their current situation…their house!” says Coats.

  • CandiceWhats Up With The Name

Most buyers will spend about 5 minutes in your home, and make an opinion about it within the first 2 minutes.

Staging helps ensure that the opinion generated is a positive one. Staging will help engage your potential buyers to think of their lives in your home. You want them imaging there own belongings in your space. They should be able to picture their daily lives happening in your house.

Engaging their minds is what it is all about….hence, Staged to Engage.
